Reviews for Oracle Lighting Oculus 9" Bi-LED Projector Headlights for 18-24 Jeep Wrangler JL & 20-24 Gladiator JT
The lights are VERY bright. Driver side is a little hard to get at to adjust, but that is Jeep's fault. The lights are mechanical in nature and do make a sound or light "humming" which takes some getting used to. Oracle's lighting instructions were very helpful for the LED headlights, but not so much for the fog lights. The "light line" is crisp with not a whole lot of stray light in the beam.
Drl wire needs to be longer, if you watch oracle's install video they even use a longer wire even though they don't tell you that they are.
Great lights, way brighter than the OEM lights. The only thing that would make them better is longer DRL wiring and a thicker gauge.
THIS IS FOR THE COLORSHIFT WITH BC1 CONTROLLER. Please read for full insights.
1. Headlight installation itself is SUPER easy - and looks good.
2. Oracle needs to bring in someone with product design expertise. Setting up BC1 Controller and DLR was needlessly complicated.
3. I wish I could have written their installation guide. I could make it soo much better.
Product design: My biggest complaint is that LED color control and DLR should be embedded on the headlamps. If Philips can do for a $10 light bulb, why can't Oracle with a $700 headlight? Instead, we have to run all these wires to an external LED bluetooth controller.
This goes to point 2. The BC1 controller is absurdly overpriced and low-functioning. These units cost maybe $3 wholesale, and Oracle is charging $95. However, for $95, we can ONLY get one color for three zones, so we need to spend another $190 for two additional units to get separate colors for each of the 3 zones. The controller does not even have a light to show if power is coming to it. Moreover, the unit itself is not plug-and-play. We need to literally strip wires and twist connect to headlamps. It looks ugly and adds a point of failure. (As a side note, I suspect for a fraction of the price, you can buy a LED multizone controller to replicate the BC1 controller, although powering it will be tricky)
I would also add that my BC1 controller was defective - and it took a while to figure out because there was no power light or easy way to check.
As for daylight running lights (DLR), it looks super cool. My one complaint is that it's ANOTHER wiring - with super-vague instructions. We are supposed to power off the fuse box, but the cord is too short to do it cleanly. It's very weird they did not think that through.
Anyway, the project is done (except for waiting for a replacement BC1 controller). I just wish Oracle thought about making this more customer-friendly.
Nice looking, but poor quality and awful service. Not worth the high price.
When my factory lenses started to fog up on my 2011 JK I figured I would upgrade. I really liked the look of these compared to some of the other lights with multiple lenses.
I ordered in April of 2022 knowing they were backordered but leadtime said 2-3 weeks. I ended up waiting until mid July before their production caught up and finally received the lights. In the mean time they shorted me a wiring harness adapter and it was a mess tring to get that corrected.
As far as installation, my 2011 required relocation of the air bag sensors and bending a few other brackets out of the way. Even then it's a tight fit.
In May 2023, 10 months after installation, one of the lights burned out, both low and high beam completely dead. So I started a warranty claim. They agreed to send me ONE new light, not both, and charged me $17 for shipping. I explained that is not how a warranty should work and the basically said take it or leave it.
Pros: look good, put out good light, work.
Cons: spread pattern could be much better and after Quadratec replaced 1st set I bought they still fog inside when it rains and that is completely unacceptable.
Conclusion: they have been working so far but like I said not happy with spread pattern, but biggest thing is after getting 2 sets with humidity issue I'm completely disappointed and DO NOT recommend anyone to get these. Pay for the LED package, that's the best option. If too late, hunt Offerup and other platforms for Mopar LED takeoffs, other than that maybe spend more $ for KCs or Baja.
Unfortunately arrived broken dealing with oracle is the worst I would never buy from them again
Not pleased, ordered these lights and either received the wrong harness or the installation instructions and capabilities are wrong. Per the installation guide and parts received, the white halo only works when the parking lights are one. No DRL function. Odd part, I received a fuze tap that leads me to believe something is wrong with the packaging. Forget calling Oculus - who should be open - you only get their voicemail and it says voicemail is full sorry and hangs up.
Received these lights Thursday right on time and installed them Saturday. Went to drive jeep today (Monday) and both lights have fog inside of them. Will all the time spent on R&D and as costly as these lights are there is no sense in having foggy lights. Very disappointed
I have these hooked up with the WiFi controller. The lights work, and I get the standard fading blue halos. The WiFi box emits WiFi to connect with the app... but Oracles App 100 percent doesn’t work. Their app will not connect with the WiFi box at all literally making it impossible to change the colors.
I spoke to their customer support and they sent me another WiFi box, and I received the same results. The WiFi box works! It’s the app that is garbage.
Let me know if you are able to get this working...
