IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFORMATION...this carrier will NOT work with the factory wheels. Too much positive offset to clear the welded on tabs for the brake light.
Nice to know before you finish to bolt on the wheel. Called DV8. Yes...that is in our detailed information on the DV8 website...which I verified. It's there. However, my customer picked this out from the Quadratec website...and I don't see anything on their end alerting our shop (installer) of this little nugget of information.
$4000 total sale for us ending with an upset customer for something we did not know.
Is it big and bold on the front of the instruction page? Nope.
Terrible execution. The hinges are so loose the carrier sags 38" even canted to the highest position (as their instructions read). There is a massive gap in the hinge/carrier connection causing the hinge bolts to cant. This can't be adjusted out either. BE AWARE: you MUST have your factory stud plate and camera mount!!! Buy something different.
As others have noted, install directions (electronic pdf from DV8) are awful. They skip numerous important steps. Not only that, in line with typical DV8, their QC is terrible; the bushings included were not the right size and left the tailgate severely sagging. Even after contacting them and sending the right ones, the tailgate still sags. Then there are the gaps in the hinges and holes left in the tailgate. Also, the tire mount is 33% more narrow than the original so a spacer is needed if you want to put the third brake light back on (the steel braces gouge your wheels if you don’t). Overall the design is crap especially for the cost. DV8 should be ashamed.
