Smittybilt Cloak Extended Mesh Top Reviews
I just finished putting this mesh top on my ‘06 TJ. Initial impression is pretty good on the quality. I can’t comment yet on the shade quality since today is a cloudy day. Installing was easy with one minor exception, it took some effort to fasten the bungees over the rear of the sound bar. I eventually prevailed and got it done using the provided bungee cords. I took the Jeep for a quick spin around town after installation and was please to see the top didn’t touch my head. I am 6’4” tall and there is at least 3 inches of head room for me. My seats are stock so that could change if you have upgraded your seats. The top was quiet with no flapping at speeds up to 40 mph, if that changes when I have time to get her on the highway I’ll update this post. Overall the only 2 negatives about this top so far are the grommets over the sound bar could be spaced farther apart by about an inch and the top is made in China. Works great, excellent fit for half the cost of some of the other brands.
Ordering this top as a replacement on the 21 JL Willys 2 dr. I think it will be a better fit. It works great on the 02 TJ.
