MOAB, Utah — You see them whenever you look at anything Quadratec promotes. That means catalog stuff, email campaigns, website landing pages and our YouTube channel.
We call it lifestyle photography and videos.
And, yes, we may not be perfect, but we do believe many of our products deserve more than just a tabletop shoot inside a bland studio.
So that’s why we bring along many of our products, as well as some from our vendor friends, to Moab, Utah, each year for the annual Easter Jeep Safari.
Normally, we take along a few vehicles from West Chester, Pennsylvania, to Moab with new items, and then venture out into the southeastern Utah desert to find a good location to shoot those lifestyle pictures, as well as plenty of video content.
If you receive our catalog or subscribe to our YouTube channel, you have definitely seen some of the things we’ve done in the past.
Monday, on our third day in Moab, we packed up mid-morning and headed northwest of Moab to the Long Canyon trail to find some good shooting locations for this year’s product crop.
Long Canyon trail is one of Moab’s most scenic and accessible off-road drives, offering towering red rock walls, sweeping desert views, and a dramatic descent from the mesa down to the Colorado River. It’s a favorite for both locals and visitors looking for a mellow off-road experience that still delivers that classic Moab landscape.
We did see several vehicles cruising both ways on the trail, and it was a mix of 4x4 vehicles like Jeeps and Toyotas, but also some SUVs.
We mentioned before that we brought two Jeeps to Moab this year. One is our 2024 red 4xe Wrangler JL Rubicon and is equipped with our new Quadratec ST2 2.5-inch suspension lift by Teraflex, Carnivore bumpers, Stealth auxiliary lighting, Mastertop Soft top, Lynx Wheels, Nitto Recon Grappler tires, Stealth Interior Light Bar and QRC side steps.
Also along for the ride this year is our Video Production Manager and YouTube host Rob Jarrell’s sting gray Rubicon Gladiator JT which features a Rock Slide Engineering front bumper, Warn XD winch, ARB Brushless Compressor, TYRI lighting, AWE exhaust, Bestop Sunrider for Hardtop, Dirty Lift wheels, EGR Rolltrac Electric Retractable Bed Cover and Nitto Trail Grappler tires.
So, we found several places along the Long Canyon trail to photograph our Jeeps and their products. Some had the high red rock cliffs in the background; some displayed the La Sal Mountain Range. Additionally, Jarrell created numerous video shorts and walkarounds on all these products that you’ll soon see on our YouTube channel, catalog, and our Torque content channel.
Later in the day, after completing Long Canyon, we moved down to the Navajo Rocks area and into the space towards Monitor and Merrimac Buttes, as well as Wipeout Hill.
With our red 4xe Wrangler JL Rubicon sporting that Quadratec ST2 2.5-inch suspension lift by Teraflex, we felt like we needed to run Wipeout Hill a few times to get an accurate gauge of its ability, as well as plenty of video and photo content
So we ran up and down Wipeout Hill several times to get what we needed without any issues, then moved on to the open area between Monitor and Merrimac.
That led to more photography of both our vehicles that will appear later this year in our catalog and website.
Located just north of Moab, the Monitor and Merrimac Buttes are two iconic sandstone formations named after Civil War-era ironclad warships due to their distinctive shapes. Rising prominently from the surrounding terrain, they sit near Highway 313 and are visible from several popular off-road and biking trails.
These buttes are composed of Entrada Sandstone and are a popular destination for off-roaders, hikers and mountain bikers.
Easily accessible yet strikingly remote in appearance, Monitor and Merrimac are classic examples of the dramatic geology that defines the Moab region—and a must-see for outdoor explorers.
As the sun eased down behind Monitor tower late Monday afternoon, we were able to ignite the Tyri Lighting 1010 A-pillar INTELLights of Jarrell’s Gladiator, as well as the front Tyri V12 !2-inch front lightbar, and show just how powerful auxiliary lighting can be when you need those lumens.
Not every day is a trail day during Easter Jeep Safari; some days you need to get some real work done.
And with all we accomplished on Monday, our third day in Moab was a resounding success.
