I purchased this Jeep in Florida about three years ago. I like the older Jeeps and decided to fix this one up. I took it down to the tub and had it repainted Mopar's "Flame Red". The exterior has all the titanium look bumpers, mirrors, hinges, step bars, etc. I replaced the old black top with
a new gray Super Top but during the Summer months I change to the Gray strapless bikini top, Windjammer, and Duster. I had the tire carrier powder-coated black. When I had the Jeep painted all the holes for the old top's snaps were welded closed and I removed the tire stopper since the Titanium Tail-light protectors stopped the spare anyway. Black diamond plate protectors on the sides and a matching frame cover in the front. A pair of Titanium KC slim Fogs and a pair of matching Driving lights up front and the old fog lights were painted to match the titanium bumpers and relocated to under the rear bumper to serve as backup lights.

I also installed a set of steel half doors from a YJ and a set of gray sliding window upper doors.

Inside was completely gutted and the entire tub was coated with Herculiner. The only carpet is an over the hump gray mat. A pair of Super Seatswere added and a matching fold and tumble rear seat, all in gray fabric, replaced the old black stuff. I made a new dashboard from stainless steel and
painted it a metallic gray. I put all Autometer phantom gauges in it and no radio or speakers. I put in a Tuffy Stereo console in to house the Sony Stereo. I wired in a light in the main console box that switches on when opened and put a USB port in so I can run/charge my MP3 player. A Grant steering wheel compliments everything else inside.

For speakers I installed the small speakers that mount in front of, and below the doors and a pair of speakers between the sportbar and the wheel
well. I mounted a subwoofer under the rear seat.

All hardware I could find was replaced with stainless steel. I also shod the wheels with 31X12.5-15 ProComp Xterrain tires to go under the Bestop wide flares.

I have, but have not had time to install, a HD radiator, Offenhauser intake manifold, Holly 4 barrel and an Aluminum valve cover. I also have a Hurst Hill holder to put in.

Future plans call for ring and pinion changes, maybe to a 3.73 and a locker. A winch would be nice as well. I am gonna paint the old wagon wheels and see if they look OK. If not then a set of wheels to finish the old girl off. Maybe upgrade to a T5 tranny... Maybe a .........
