Reviews for AJT Design Injection Molded Key Fob Cover for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Make sure to watch the video on how to transfer the old key parts into the new kit. A little bulky but I don't have to worry about the letters rubbing off or the key ring attachment breaking. Worth the investment.
Love these. I bought one for myself and my wife wanted one. I plan to purchase a third one for my valet key. The look great, beefy and rugged like Jeep key should be and much better when you need to replace a battery. Love the color options. A bit pricey but you won’t find anything as nice any cheaper so you just have to pay up.
East to switch over to and labels are stamped into the molding so wont rub off over time.
very nice, easy to assemble, just wish the buttons were a little bigger, and lock and unlock were white, or a different color to make it easy to read
Very nice "makeover" for your key. I would advise not to use a knife or exacto blade to cut the key out of the old case like the video shows. Instead, use a set of small wire cutters to nibble at and free it. All of the buttons work without issue and the key sits very firmly in place in its new home. (My old key casing had a small ring attached to it in order for it to go on my key ring and was too small. I used the larger one that came on the rubber key tag with the company name on it. Very happy with this product.
great addition to the total customization of your jeep. 5 minutes after watching the how to video, i was done. very solid, feels indestructible and rugged. this uses the guts and rubber buttons from your old key fob. i actually got 2 of these. i will buy again .
Bought 3 of these to replace worn out cases. Easy to assemble. Just watch the video first. Works great. They are very attractive.
Very easy to put this together. All pieces fit well and the key looks and feels great. I do wish it was made of metal though, then it would be 5 stars. A small but fun upgrade anyone can do with basic tools.
Nice! BUT there is not empty button for key version without PANIC button. So I took new button START X2 and cut "legs" from it (I do not have this button also on my old key) and used it under PANIC for correct assembling.
When I first got my Jeep, it had only one key, and like the rest of the vehicle it had been beaten pretty badly. The key/fob combination had gotten pretty wiped out, and the key ring was going to break through the thin plastic, leaving me at some point without either house keys or a pricey Jeep key.
So, while going through the new items available, I saw this and became intrigued. The video explains everything you'd need to know to make the swap from the factory housing to the new one. I only needed a screwdriver and a knife (not counting the allen key that they include with the kit), and the swap literally took me like 5 minutes.
I chose orange, not because my rig is orange, but to make the key more visible if I drop it. It seems well put together and all the buttons work like they did with my key/fob combination.
It was thoughtfully packaged, came with all necessary parts, and has multiple colorways to choose from. The only reason I docked it one star is because the price seems high to me. Like every other Jeep toy, it seems about 25-30% high.
Time will tell for durability, but it certainly doesn't seem fragile, and since it's plastic, the color won't wear off.
if you're worried about the plastic key integrity of your OEM key, give it a shot.
