Reviews for AJT Design Injection Molded Key Fob Cover for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
The battery install is no joke, but great product, exactly what I wanted.
Top quality product! I have hated the large size of the Jeep fob since I first saw it sitting on a desk for me at the dealer. It's just unusually large and it doesn't fit into my pocket or my wife's purse very well. The key constantly pops open while it's in my pocket which is annoying. The AJT fob is a million time better, converts the Jeep fob into a normal sized key fob. I don't use the key itself often so having it stored in the back of the fob works fine for me. I didn't have any trouble switching the fob over. There is a video which explains how to do the part of putting the covers together which other people complained about being difficult. Take you time and it's easy. Definitely a worthy upgrade for anyone who doesn't like the stock fob.
It’s not easy to swap the pieces over you need to have patience for this one but when it’s complete you will absolutely love it as much as I do. I suggest that you don’t purchase the black one as it is hard to see the buttons, they don’t stand out. I went with the gray, works great and I don’t miss my old remote with the key flipping out at all!!!!
This modification is an improvement over the giant stock key that comes with the new Jeeps. However, it is still quite large and it does require some filing to get the sides square. Because the side do not line up perfectly.
It is difficult to reassemble. I'm going to hate changing the battery. Otherwise, good product.
The end result is very nice, and much smaller (and possibly more durable?) than the factory key fob. But.... you will need to be patient. I'd recommend watching Quadratec's video before you get started.
Not bad, kinda platiky. Feels cheap. Anything is an improvement over huge factory jeep fob with key always piping out.
A little difficult to close with battery. But the real difficult part is the chip. I cut away both sites then had to wiggle and pull with plyers to get it out.
I'd buy it again, do wish buttons were nicer, rubber maybe.
Also didn't get the triangle piece but seems to work fine without it.
Product is cool, lightweight, and I don't fiddle with the spare key all the time, so that's a win. The battery is a pain in the tailpipe, but once it's in, you're good.
I love the look but it was hard to get the battery seated correctly. It took several tries to get it closed.
What others say about assembly and the battery is true. Even after watching the video numerous times I was having issues with aligning everything but after a few tries it finally went together.
The cover comes with an optional rocker for "LOCK" / "UNLOCK" if you have the remote start fob. I tried it and wasn't a fan, too hard to press so I removed and now everything works as it should. The buttons, in general, need to pressed a little harder than the factory cover but you will get used to it in no time.
Overall this is better than the factory case as it is slimmer and no longer an issue with the blade opening in your pocket.
