Reviews for Quadratec Driver Side Dead Pedal for 18-24 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
A nice substantial piece.
I also installed Quadratec Tru-Fit® Floor Liners - the side wall prevents the peddle from sitting straight. but, no big deal, it still functions as well as I had hoped.
Top quality product. Definitely very heavy duty & built to last. Super fast delivery too.
I used this pedal on my 2021 4xE. I just had to buy a 8M x 1.25 nut coupler and bolt and it installed pretty easy.
Never had one but I do make several long trips per year and may make the ride more comfortable. Especially on those mountain roads.
Fills that void where my left foot normally just loitered while driving long distances.
Very useful since it is a great place for the left foot during driving any distance. My left foot found itself actually rubbing against the left cowling but with the dead pedal it has a place to rest. Great item.
Ease of installation
Why Jeep hasn’t offered this as an option is beyond me!
Stainless steel and has a rubber cover
I'm actually rating this dead pedal a 4.9.
On the plus side:
(1) It's very well designed and constructed. It's beefy, unlike some cheaper alternatives I found on-line. It also looks good even though almost nobody will ever look at it.
(2) The install was very quick, maybe ten minutes, and it could have been even quicker except for the two minuses I list below.
(3) It's easy to move the dead pedal up and down for pulling out the floor mat.
(4) The dead pedal in place is nearly perfect. The width is perfect. The position of the bottom end fits me exactly (I am 6'-0" tall and my legs are proportional to my frame). I use my left foot to brake, and the position of my left foot on the dead pedal makes it quicker for me to brake than without the dead pedal. The pedal angle is good, although a slightly steeper angle would be a little better. Extending the side tabs on the mounting plate to provide one more set of holes would do it.
On the minus side:
(1) The instruction say to use a 5-mm hex key, but the bolts for mine required a 4-mm hex key. That took a very long 30 seconds for me to go back to my tool box to get the 4-mm. :-)
(2) About 2 inches along one of the flanges on the underside of the dead pedal was not ground smooth like the rest of it. When I picked it up, I got stabbed by a little metal sliver. It took a few minutes to get a bandage for my left palm and use a Dremel with a grinding wheel to clean that up. Otherwise, I think the install would have taken about 5 minutes.
Regardless, I am VERY happy with this item. VERY happy.
