If you decide not to permanently mount, with the drawer fully extended (with cargo in it) will it cause the box to be unstable and fall out of the jeep?

will this fit a 2004 LJ
Yes. For TJ and LJ models, if the rear seat is removed, this box can installed. The installation of the storage box is very universal only limited to the space in the area of the vehicle it is being mounted in. Bronco, and other popular 4x4's of any type should be able to accommodate it's fit as well. Thanks for your inquiry.

Will this fit in the 4xe?
We have not tested 4xe and it is expected the variation in the Cargo area caused by the location of battery under the rear seat may make for some interference for this storage box. Sorry we cannot state definitively at this time. Thanks for your inquiry.
