Reviews for Smittybilt 76716 SMI SRC Roof Rack in Textured Black for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 Door
Great rack. Has the carrying capacity and is stable. Mine has seen a lot of ise, from tools to lumber.
My only beef is that there are brackets for lights, but the designer did not make it possible to run the wires through the tubing. Careless on their part. During construction they could have taken a few minutes before joining the tubes at the 4 joints and drilled a 1 inch hole to allow for the pipe. They did make holed fonder each light bracket.
I wanted the Kargo Master because it appears to hug the body more, they're hard to find in stock. Decided to go with Smittybilt, and very pleased with the design. Nothing bad to say about it. Not much info out there on 2 Door Jeeps with a soft top. I know there are some reviews on this roof rack, as like many items, or parts, make you want to look at something else, but trust me, it is a great product, and it is possible to put this on yourself. (when you get to the rear, put corner pieces in side rails, then the rear rail, and put your body mount, or frame mount pieces on). All the holes lined up. I received this from Quadratec the next day after ordering it, in 2 boxes. Awesome job guys, packaged well, and nothing was missing, or damaged, love your service. For those who say the Smittybilt roof rack is bad quality, or doesn't fit properly, maybe oughta buy a Volkswagen Beetle. Thanks Quadratec.
loud, squeaky, and ugly. Does hold a lot of weight.
I’ll give it 2 stars only because the installation was fairly simple. I did it myself in a couple of hours. You just need to get crafty at the back end and not follow the instructions. However, this thing is NOISY!! The wind noise is so loud it makes any long distance travel almost impossible. Looking for some sort of wind deflector or maybe make my own. Definitely something you want to think about before you purchase
