Reviews for Garvin Hi-Lift Jack Mount for Garvin Wilderness Rack
Confidence that it will work with the 4" Garvin Rack.
I have the Garvin rack with 4" sides, so those were the mounts that I ordered. Very simple install. Just figure out where on the rack that you want the mounts, and mount them on up there. Metal plates to hold the jack in place use two wingnuts to secure them (see photos). I also got the neoprene boot to put on the winch to keep it from rusting due to our snow, road sand, salt, and ice. FYI: I've heard that the neoprene boot ages quickly if your ride is mostly outside, but mine is garaged, so am not worried about it.
I also have the handle keeper on mine, plus I used a gun lock (again, see photos) to secure it to the rack itself just to make sure that it doesn't "walk off." I had read too many bad reviews of the hi lift locking knob, so I dug around in my firearms cache until I came up with some of those brand new locks I had been saving. Works perfectly.
(My photos are of the red Wrangler JKU with red Hi Lift Jack.
Looks good hanging on the rack. One of those i have in case i need it, before i need to try it out
Mounts are sturdy and will hold the jack in place no issue, however when I mounted the jack on the rack, at least with the rack being empty, it cause a lot of vibration and rattling of the rack. Loud enough that the Jeep’s following me could hear. I tried making sure all bolts were tight on the rack and no change. Not an issue with the mounts just not where I am going to mount my high lift if it is going to cause that much noise.
