Reviews for Quadratec Automatic Billet Aluminum Mirror Movers for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
I'm happy with mirrors and easy to do
Item as described & works well. Heavy duty quality craftsmanship. Jeep should be installing these new at the factory. Tried the basic mirror relocates & didn't work. These are perfect & exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
These should come standard right from the Jeep dealer!
-they are high quality, and do as promised.
-they also prevent the door from opening into a car parked beside you
-DOWN SIDE, you fight the mirror movers when you try to put your doors back on. I highly recommend buying those "door pin extensions". they are cheap and sold on this site, and will help the fight as you align the door to the hinge.
I've had these for a couple of months. I drive on highways, secondary roads, and unpaved roads every day. Extremely pleased with the look and function both with and without doors. Easy to install.
I decided to wait about 6 months before submitting a review. First of all, these mirrors were EASY to install. Assuming you have a torx head socket and a wrench. The return spring has so far been working properly and this is important to keep in in line so you can actually see out of the mirror properly. These mirrors rest where the factory ones did and this is a big advantage of other A pillar mounted mirrors. An added bonus is that the door absolutely CANNOT swing out and bash the hood cowl anymore. I never have the retaining straps on my doors but the mirrors keep me from over extending. In case anyone is wondering, I am also running a Rugged Ridge snorkel and I have no issues with the mirror mounts.
This item is a game changer when it comes to quickly removing your doors and being able to keep your factory style mirrors in basically their original position. Best money I ever spent. Thanks Quad!
I love the way they replace the factory mirrors and I never have to forget when I take the doors off. The drivers side has a perfect fit but the passenger mirror housing is not clocked correctly and because of that the mirror housing hits the door before the pad on the door does. I would like to know if this can be resolved by an adjustment that I can perform.
These work as advertised. The directions tell how to adjust the hinges on the mirror arm, but the nylock nut will loosen. I removed the nylock nut, and replaced it with a standard nut. I used an acorn nut to jam against the standard nut. So far the mirrors spring closed with the doors.
My left side mirror came dismounted during shipping; but after putting it back together it vibrates a little. Other than that its a handsome well made upgrade.
Fed Ex was my shipper :(
Bought these manual mirrors for my RHD 2008 2-Door JK hoping that I could swap the mirror glass between the head sets so that the convex mirror is on the passenger side (left). Though the two sides are not quite the same shape, I was able to successfully snap each glass plate out and back into the opposite side. This was the longest part of the install to make sure I didn’t break any tabs. These mirror plates connect using the later 2011-18 round style with 4 tabs, not the original 2007-10 square ones with 2 tabs and 2 hooks.
Separate note, I cannot use the head set detents. I have to turn the left mirror head set a bit inward and the right side (driver) mirror headset further outward to get the proper mirror angles. This may be related to the RHD set up. Too bad they can’t have 2-3 different detents to set the head set angle.
Finally, the mirrors work well on initial install. There is some vibration on the driver’s side (right) but still well useable. Passenger side visibility is great. They seem to hold position even at highway speeds for now. I’ll see with time if they hold position.
