Reviews for Quadratec Automatic Billet Aluminum Mirror Movers for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Great product! Don't have to worry about mirrors when doors are off. Only problem I have to readjust the driver side mirror due to it not returning back in place at times. But over all I'm loving them.
Great product! so far (on not quite a week). Too many crazy drivers out there not to have good mirrors when going doors off.
Install: Easy install made easier with tools, instructions and video (so just get a panel tool if you don’t have one). The wire harness popped right into place and the longest part was being deliberate about wire routing and tie down.
Love the bonus of controlling the free-swinging door under some tension from the mirror arm.
Easier to load the doors in back if I decide to remove while out because of the replacement plate instead of bulky mirrors.
Cons (or why not 5 stars): the mirror surface does vibrate more than the OEM but it isn’t impeding their use. It can reduce clarity of the reflected image though. (Also, personally not a fan of branding in my face so the logo top dead center is a minor annoyance)
These mirrors are AWESOME! They look great, function as OEM and appear to be of high quality. My only complaint is that the undersize of the mirror attachment is exposed (pic attached). Hopefully its well-sealed to keep sand and salt out, but for the price it would be nice to have had a finish piece there to enclose it. The instructions and materials are spot on. One very important thing to note: If you have other wiring going through that grommet in the firewall, MAKE SURE THE WIRING PLUGS WILL FIT. The whole install took me 45 minutes total, sans the extra hour it took for me to do that one section. If you have more than 3 wiring looms in that grommet (an Spod and some accessories, for example), there is a high chance that these wiring harnesses will not easily snake through, if at all. Excellent product, excellent customer service. They're expensive, but they're well worth it. Two thoughts: I wish Quadratec offered the billet pieces in a kit where you could gut your OEM mirror housings and splice them into the Quadratec harnesses in order to cut some of the cost and I wish they offered some security style bolts to replace the factory torx to better secure this application. Well done and thank you, Quadratec!
If we could we would give it 4.5 out of 5. Not sure if Quadratec has tried this kit on a 2018 Wrangler JK Unlimited, but we did. Just finished the install on our 1 month old Jeep. Started install at 7:15 PM & was done by 9:45 PM. Only issue was that the plug on the mirror does not fit through the body mouldings like in the video. Had to pry them over to get plug through :( Otherwise install went almost exactly like video.
I got these after I got a pair of SFZ half doors. Overall, they are awesome. I'd love to see a locking switch in lieu of using allen keys to hold the mirror open when putting doors back in. My other gripe is the Quadratech logo placement; with how I have my mirrors set, it looks like something on the road, which still causes a reaction sometimes when I'm changing lanes. But It is very nice to just take the doors off and not have to reorient fold away mirrors. It's nice be able to get a set of bumpers for a set of half doors, cutting down the weight and bulk.
put my mirrors on yesterday, very easy installation , yes they do , very lightly try to close the door. I think I am going to put the original mirrors on the new mounts,,, I think the original have a clearer view , but I do think the mounts are good ,we'll have to wait and see if they hold up..good position for the passenger mirror.. you can actually see out of it.
These mirrors are really convinent and work great. They shake and vibrate more than the stock mirrors but that's not much of a surprise. Really happy I got them.
I am very happy with these, the installation was simple and they work great. I am very happy with the visibility out of both mirrors but especially the passenger side. Other solutions have been less effective. I am using the Quadratec supplied mirrors and so far no issues as others have mentioned. The only drawback is that the spring loaded bracket wants to pull the door closed and it needs to be held open to get out. Not a big deal, just mentioning it. They also look great!
I intend to use them only when I run doorless as they claim to mimic stick mirror location. I'll use the stick on door electric mirrors when my doors are on.
If you would like a powered mirror relocation option this is the one you want. My wife and I put these on her jeep a about a week ago. The instructions are easy to follow. (Watch the video if you are unfamiliar with removing your door panels). These took my wife and I a little over 1 hour to install the pair. The included wiring harness makes the install a breeze. I recommend taking the time to adjust the tension on the arms. Out of the box they were tightened down too much and had limited range of motion. With some minor adjustments (Which are covered in the instructions) the mirrors had the proper range of motion and operation. The location of the mirrors is perfect for doors on or off the jeep. There are no 'blind spots' created by the door frame when the doors are on.
I did have the non-powered mirror movers before and I had the same vibration issues that others have reported. These mirrors seem to be of similar quality to the factory mirrors. There is no whistling. There is a slight vibration when driving at highway speeds but it is minimal and does not effect the drivers ability to use the mirrors. This slight vibration is the only reason that I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5.
I would recommend these mirrors to anyone that would like the same functionality as the factory power/heated mirrors but the flexibility to remove the doors.
