Reviews for AEV 2.5in DualSport XT Suspension System for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
I've had my jeep since 2019, and finally had the lift installed this year. Did my research and I figured if I'm going to buy a lift kit for my daily driver, might as well get the good one, went with AEV because it was exactly what I wanted. The jeep definitely sits taller, I was parked next to a fellow jeeper and he had a 2.5 teraflex lift and mine was sitting taller then his, springs are heavy duty for big bumpers and armor I have a big stinger in the front and I see no sag at all what so ever and I've had it for a couple months now. It eats bumps like nothing because this kit is build for that type of abuse, whether long drives or weekend fun Im a big guy so I like how the jeep rides and also got the geometry brackets as well because it was recommended on some YouTube videos and reviews before I bought this kit, 10/10 would recommend for everyone a great full suspension system for the money. running on 33x12.5 bfg's
Had this lift kit installed for over a week now and it has made my jeep feel more agile despite it being taller. It rides firm however bumps don't feel as harsh as they used to. I fit 35inch tires on it with no issue, I'm very happy I chose this lift kit.
Quality
Quality of products very impressive, fit like a glove. Instructions a bit brief and incomplete but not left as a mystery. Be prepared for some lengthy grunt work if your a DYI'r, but that's what it takes for a big job. If product fit wouldn't have been grade A, I would say probably couldn't pull it off!
amazing and comfortable
Great set! Thanks Quadratec and AEV
Really happy with this lift. I cannot believe how much comfortable my Jeep feels on and Off-road. The ride is much more comfortable. AEV built an incredible lift, handles excellent has one plenty of articulation for a 2.5 inch lift. In my opinion this is the best lift on the market for Overlanding.
Just finished installing this kit. Also used the geometry correction brackets. Install was straight forward and the instructions were clear. Looks awesome and seems solid.
Put this lift on ~4 months ago (in my garage) and I'm very happy with my choice. Instructions were OK but I suggest you also check out some youtubes. Worst part was cutting off the front brakeline brackets (no fault of AEV) but I got it done with my side grinder and cutoff wheel. I would prefer proper new sway bar links but it works fine - I will order some adjustable links to "do it right." The tie-wrap method of securing the front brake lines is also a bit "amateur" for my tastes but it is functional. The rear brake line brackets seem fine. Ride and handling are as good as I hoped. Side rails are level, no rake. I ordered the geometry correction brackets but waited a month to put them on (I was tired, lol). I would say you can live without them, but they do make a difference - noticeably better with them on concrete road expansion joints and similar road imperfections and general "feel." When I got it aligned the tech said "you nailed it on the caster" so that's another good reason to use them. Also, I ran for 4 months on the stock BFG MTs because I wanted to evaluate one thing at a time and the ride was a tad firmer but in a good way. Now running Cepek 295-17 Trail Countrys on stock wheels and the ride is still great (and quieter) and they fill up the wheel wells without too much of a hit on street performance and MPG. Couldn't be happier with my new setup.
We installed this on a 2017 JKU Rubicon along with the geometry correcting brackets and both my wife and I noticed an improvement in the ride both on and off road. I picked up 2.5 inches in the rear, and 2.75 up front - perfect. This a very well thought out and complete kit. For that reason it does take a while to install. I did it myself in my garage without a vehicle lift over several days. It would have been easier with an extra set of hands and a lift, but was doable without. A couple of hints; Check the AEV website to make sure you have the latest version of the instructions. Search the internet for install videos - they have some helpful hints. If you don't have coil spring compressors a lot of the big auto parts stores have tool loaner programs - it helped having some. Also, 2 sets of jack stands (1 pair frame, 1 pair for axles) and a good floor jack made the job safer and easier. This kit is well worth the time and money.
