Reviews for AEV 2.5in DualSport XT Suspension System for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
This lift kit surpassed my expectations. Not only did I get almost 4" of actual lift, the on-road handling is better than stock! Install was quick and easy. I did have to buy a coil spring compressor to aid in the removal and install of the springs.
When I purchased my JK and decided I wanted to put a lift on it, every single person I talked to said DONT GO CHEAP, go for quality! The more I learned about lifts, read reviews, and talked to people who had been off-roading with their Jeeps for years, I kept being told to look at AEV.
I purchased the AEV 2.5 Dual Sport Lift along with the AEV Geometry brackets and was just blown away instantly at how much better the Jeep rode, how much better it felt when breaking without having the nose drop like when stock, and the overall build quality when looking everything over.
I use my Jeep to do some trails and overlanding, as well as a bit of mall crawling ;) but I couldn't be happier with the quality Dual Sport lift I received from AEV! I paired my JK EV lift and geometry brackets with a set of AEV's Pintler wheels with 315 K02s and feel like I can go anywhere with my JK now. Awesome lift that will last many years of off-road abuse.
One of the best lift kits made.
Very high quality and complete lift kit with new rear track bar and track bar bracket, rides better than stock on-road and off-road.
Jeep JKs 2017
Awesome! Rides better than stock rubicon suspension. Even fully loaded off road.
Great quality kit. Perfect lift for my 33's. The Bilstien shocks eat up the washboard roads and are smooth on the highway. Thanks AEV!
My daughter wanted a lift kit for her 2014 Wrangler for graduation (she is going to college in Colorado - think I’m going to put a High Country Edition sticker on it!). I told her it was over budget so she suggested that we make a daddy daughter project out of it. How do I argue with that. First of all, 2 people make it incredibly easy. Secondly, I want to let everyone it look the both of us about 16 total hours to complete. She has a Rubicon model. We added 35” tires to the stock wheels. We had about 9 hours in the lift. We put on the new BFG Mud KO3’s which requires wheel spaces as there was tire rub on the upper sway bar links. I also had to trim a little bit from the front air dam as the tires were hitting it. I had to purchase a new spare tire bracket to space out the 12.5” wide spare tire. I had to remove the rock rails and cut down about 2” in the rear. I also purchased a third brake light (AEV). This was another problem as the light says fits most wrangler wheels but does not state that it does not fit The Rubicon (???). However, I modified the bracket and everything fits together nicely. in lifting the Jeep I had to purchase about another $500 worth of accessories (wheel spacers, 3rd brake light, spare tire relocation) this has nothing to do with this kit as all kits would be the same but I had about 6 additional hours getting the rest of the equipment on. Just something to know. Also, I tried a cheap Amazon spare tire relocation and ended up with a Rugged Ridge. Much better. I also bought two new rubber extensions to hold the spare steady Away from the tailgate. It takes a while to space it correctly but was totally worth it. I purchased:
2.5 AEV lift
4 1.25” wheel spacers
Spare tire relocation bracket
4 BFG Mud 35x12.5x17
AEV 3rd brake light
2 new spare tire bumpers
(Tow hitch but unnecessary)
Last couple of thoughts. I own a beast of a Wrangler. I have a 6.4L AEV with a 4.5” lift and 37” tires. I should have gone with this 2.5” lift. It’s so comfortable. The 2.5” lift and 35” tires proportionately make it look like a stock Rubicon - until you part it next to someone. It raised my daughters Jeep by 4.25”. I drove it down the street at 90 mph and drives amazing. Takes bumps better than ever and outside of the rock rails everything was bolt on. Love AEV products. Also, with the third brake light which sits in one of the spokes rearward visibility is not reduced at all with the larger tires as the goofy high mounted factory unit is gone. Not only would I recommend but would buy it again. This time I could probably cut off a couple hours.
This is an excellent lift kit. The ride quality is better than factory with the Bilstein shocks and all the supplied parts are very good quality. Wish the kit came with longer sway bar end links but there is no issues reusing the originals.
My brother and I installed on my 2014 JK in about 7 hours and about 30 minutes of that was my brother laughing at my tools and the jack stands I had, that apparently were so small he thought I was lowering my Jeep. I blamed the inadequate tools on my kids saying they took them and lost them, but honestly, my big red tool chest is really to impress the neighbors when my garage door is open. I've never worked on a vehicle other than pumping gas and waving my finger at some mechanic for trying to charge me $300 for an oil change. That said, we were able to install my lift and it looks awesome. Now I'm ready to take on any dirt parking lot after a nice rain and make my Jeep look like a guy owns it!
Very Happy! I installed on my 2007 JKUX, replacing a worn out Rough Country 2” lift. I added the control arm relocation brackets to the install. Two of us completed on jack stands in 10 hours. I will caution installation of the relocation brackets on a 3.8L JK, the passenger exhaust is in the way of the upper control arm bolt. I had to loosen exhaust from manifold and pry away to remove and install. I also disconnected the front driveshaft to install the springs. The ride and performance are excellent. The rear track bar setup I believe is key. I have read other reviews stating the front end did not level out. I would agree, it’s not level, but not a detractor for me to recommend. Highly recommended if you want a quality lift with mid range price.
