Reviews for AEV 2.5in DualSport XT Suspension System for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
A litter hard but off road it"s ok
The directions said 6-9 hours. Took a friend and I around 15 hours to complete. That's 15 hours for two guys who are not mechanics. The ride is much better then stock. The only complaint in the steering could be better. Hoping the AEV drop bracket fixes that problem
I have a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited. I chose this lift because I was installing 35" tires and I don't intend to go off roading. I additionally purchased the Geometry Correction Kit and ProCal module. Installation was not extremely difficult working off of jack stands and a floor jack in my garage. I have to say that this lift enhanced the OEM rake and did not level the vehicle as intended nor as depicted in the pictures. I do have a winch and aftermarket bumper on the front but nothing with any extravagant weight. I contacted AEV for a fix to the leveling issue and they did not have any recommendations. I am now looking at 1" spacers the added cost of a High Steer Kit to level the ride. Had I known the 2.5" kit would not level my Jeep, I would of chosen the 3.5" or another brand.
2 words: awful ride. I bought this kit for my 2011 2dr which is kitted out for overland travel, and despite the weight, it rides so bad I can't even grasp how AEV thought this was OK. I had a (far) better ride with stock springs and spacers. There are times I worry the harshness is going to damage something, the chassis is literally crashing into the bumps. I have had this lift on for almost 6 months now and the ride hasn't improved any, I am now searching for a new lift kit. At what this kit costs, this is EXTREMELY unacceptable.
